  • Roman Reigns' current run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, which has lasted over a thousand days, is considered one of the best in WWE history.
  • Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga, could potentially be a valuable addition to The Bloodline storyline, despite some concerns about his readiness for the WWE limelight.

The Bloodline storyline has been the most integral part of WWE programming in recent years, spilling over to both Raw and SmackDown brands. It revolves around Roman Reigns' heel run as "The Tribal Chief," where he's formed a successful alliance with many of his real-life family members, like The Usos and Solo Sikoa, all of which have helped him defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for over three years. However, as there is currently tension within The Bloodline with Jey Uso breaking out on his own as a singles star on Raw, there's one member of Roman Reigns' family who some could argue should get involved in the ongoing Bloodline storyline, which is the son of the late Umaga, Zilla Fatu.

The Success Of The Bloodline In WWE

Ever since Roman Reigns finally turned to the dark side at SummerSlam 2020, he has been one of the most successful WWE superstars of the modern era, so much so that many put him on the same pedestal as past top superstars like John Cena, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and Steve Austin regarding his position in the company. After winning the Universal Championship at Payback 2020, Reigns' current run as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is among the best in WWE history, as he's held his title reign for over a thousand days. Throughout this time, Reigns has successfully defeated many of the best WWE has had to offer from the past and the present, including Brock Lesnar, Edge, Drew McIntyre, and Cody Rhodes.

Along with Roman Reigns' successful title reign, he created and led The Bloodline faction for many years, a group featuring the likes of Paul Heyman, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Solo Sikoa throughout its inception. Every one of these members has helped contribute to the success of Reigns' current heel run, as The Bloodline has gotten universal praise from fans and critics over the years for its character development and on-screen credibility. Although some have criticized the booking of The Bloodline storyline since the fallout of WrestleMania 39 after Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, there could be many more story arcs that WWE could add to the storyline, potentially producing quality TV in the coming months.

Should The Bloodline Include Umaga's Son, Zilla Fatu?

It's no secret that Roman Reigns comes from a long lineage of Samoan professional wrestlers, as he's related to many past Samoan legends like The Rock. However, while many fans want to see The Rock get involved in The Bloodline storyline and potentially wrestle Reigns, other family members that aren't known to many WWE fans could be brought in for him to have an angle with. A case in point is upcoming independent talent and the son of the late Umaga, Zilla Fatu.

For those who may not be familiar with Zilla Fatu, he's a 24-year-old independent wrestler who recently made waves wrestling for Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion. Zilla Fatu's also heavily active on social media, where fans get to stay in touch regarding what he's doing as an upcoming professional wrestler. Someone who many cite as a potential future WWE superstar due to his family lineage, Zilla Fatu could get his big break in WWE if he gets inserted into the biggest storyline in today's product.

While there are arguments about whether or not ZFatu should get featured in The Bloodline storyline, he could be one of the few members of Roman Reigns' family to take a stand against The Bloodline from the start and never join the group, unlike The Usos and Solo Sikoa who eventually ran with The Bloodline for quite some time. Even if some feel that Fatu is not ready for the WWE limelight, when there's a compelling story to get told to generate fan interest, it sometimes outweighs the negatives.

Even though Fatu is no longer with the Reality of Wrestling promotion, he could always take the time to improve his craft in the independent scene.
